Most states don’t require pharmacy technicians to be certified, but the majority of employers do.
To become certified, you’ll need to take the exam from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, or PTCB.
To qualify for the exam, you’ll need to complete an approved training program or have at least 500 hours of experience as a pharmacy technician.
The exam is computer based, and has 90 questions, with 80 questions scored.
