About the School

Founded more than 40 years ago, Lytle’s Beauty College provides training programs for future Stylists and Estheticians.

The school is a nationally accredited beauty college and a member of Pivot Point and Milady Partner college.

Courses Offered

The Cosmetology program offered by Lytle’s Beauty College includes several areas of specialization: hairstylist, hair color specialist, photo stylist, platform artist, nail art designer, waxing specialist, and more.

About the School

California Barbering & Cosmetology Apprenticeship Learning Center, Inc. prepares students for careers as entrepreneurs or employees in the beauty industry.

The programs are available for students above the age of 16.

Group lessons take place in a pleasant classroom atmosphere.

Students learn from experienced instructors who are certified in their areas of expertise.

The program is approved by the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, and the Department of Consumer Affairs, the Division of Barbering and Cosmetology.

The program can be completed in 19 months.

Students attend instruction classes once a week.

The program consists of six hours per week dedicated to class training and 32 to 42 and a half hours in on-the-job training in a salon of their choice.

Tuition is $8,000 for the Cosmetology, Barbering, and Master Educator programs.

Before becoming an Apprentice students have to complete the 39-hour pre-apprenticeship training program.

5Jupiter Hallow School of Massage

About the School

Jupiter Hallow School of Massage offers training in the countryside of Santa Rosa for students who want to start a career in massage therapy.

The total tuition for the program is $6,875.

The first class included 100 hours of training and covers beginning principles.

The second class covers 150 hours and includes the subject of Trauma treatment in massage therapy.

The third class includes 130 hours and teaches students how to treat pain using Massage Therapy.

The following short classes are also included in the program: Burnout (20 hours), Lymphatic Massage (20 hours), Reflexology (20 hours), Facial Anatomy (20 hours), Neck shoulder complex (20 hours), Hips and back (20 hours), and skin (20 hours).

Classes may also be paid for individually.

Students must be at least 18 years of age or have written permission from a parent to enroll in classes.

Those who don’t have a diploma or GED can take a Combined English Language Skills Assessment test with a passing score of 97 each (on form 1 and form 2).

6Redwood Empire Electrical Training Center

Redwood Empire Electrical Training Center provides a debt-free pathway toward a career in the electrical construction industry.

The center has more than 70 years of experience.

A five-year training program allows apprentices to earn a living wage as well as health benefits, retirement pension, and the opportunity to earn much more once they graduate.

Courses Offered

The following apprenticeships are available:

  • Inside Wireman- this five-year program consists of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 900 hours of classroom instruction.

Classes take place at the training center in Santa Rosa four times per year in week-long sessions.

The apprentice salary starts at 40 percent a journeyman wage and increases in 5 percent increments after every 750-1,000 hours worked and completing classroom instruction.

  • Residential Wireman- this three-year apprenticeship consists of 4,800 hours of on-the-job training and 480 hours of classroom instruction

Residential wireman apprentices start with a salary that is 50 percent of the journeyman worker’s salary and receive 8 percent increases after every 800 hours worked.

  • Sound & Communication- this apprenticeship lasts three years and consists of 4,800 hours of on-the-job training and 480 hours of classroom instruction.

Sound & Communication apprentices start with a salary that is 55 percent of Installer wages; stepwise increases of 5 percent are also received during the program.

7National Holistic Institute

National Holistic Institute offers a massage therapy program at its Santa Rosa campus.

This is one of four NHI massage therapy schools located in the Bay Area.

According to its website, National Holistic Institute was California’s first accredited massage therapy school.

8Santa Rosa Bartending

About the School

Santa Rosa Bartending offers a two-week course that consists of 25 hours of behind-the-bar instruction.

Students attend classes for two and a half hours a day, five days a week, for two weeks.

Classes take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

The program covers bar operations and procedures that usually take place in bars, as well as pouring and mixing drinks.

Founded in 1978 by a professional bartender and bar management consultant, Santa Rosa Bartending School has offered quality education to thousands of individuals ever since.

10JGC Truck Driving Training

Family-owned and operated, JGC Truck Driving Training was established in 2005 and offers training courses for those who want to start a career in truck driving.

Courses Offered

JCG offers a 160-hour truck driving program offered Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The program can be completed in approximately two-three weeks and prepares students with all the skills needed for the Commercial Drivers License.

The Truck Driving refresher course is an 80-hour course offered Monday through Friday from 8 to 3 p.m.

To qualify for a commercial driver’s license, applicants must:

  • Have a class C license or be able to obtain one
  • Provide a certificate of high school diploma or transcript
  • Be eligible to work in the United States
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a drug test and alcohol screening
  • Pas the DMV written exam
  • After passing the written exam, students can begin behind the wheel training

Students enrolled at JGC Truck Driving Training learn hands-on on tractors and trailers inspected by the Department of Transportation (DOT)

The truck driving course costs $4,522.50 in total.
