4Regional Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor Training

The Regional Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor Training Program is offering courses for individuals who want to work in the substance abuse counseling field.

Founded in 1992, the RADACT is a nonprofit organization with offices in Anchorage.

Alaska Academy of Real Estate is offering pre-licensing, post-licensing classes and continuing education for future and current real estate professionals.

Academy instructors are dedicated professionals with years of experience in the field.

The school offers a 40-hour complete course for future salespersons and a 6-hour class for those who want to transfer their license from other states.

7Alaska Laborers Training

The Alaska Laborers Training School offers training for workers in many construction fields.

The school also offers career track opportunity to those without any construction experience through an earn-while-you learn Apprenticeship Program.

The Apprenticeship Program lasts between 4 and 5 years.

Future construction craft laborers are trained in all major aspects of construction, including Highway/Heavy, Civil, Building, Specialty and Oil and Gas.

8 Alaska Joint Electrical Apprenticeship and Training Trust

The Alaska Joint Electrical Apprenticeship and Training Trust is a partnership between The Alaska Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association and The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1547.

The Trust is dedicated to producing skilled electrical workers.

The Inside Wireman program consists of an initial 6 to 7-week school session, with 4 additional sessions approximately once every year.

The Outside Lineman program consists of an initial 8-week school session with two additional 8-week sessions during on-the-job training.

The Telecommunications program consists of an initial 8-week session of class-related training with 3 additional 8-week sessions during on-the-job training.

A beginning apprentice will earn 50% of journeyman’s wage.

Enrollment. Applications are accepted year-round in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, and Ketchikan.

If the application is accepted, the applicant will be contacted to schedule an interview.

Candidates will be interviewed by a committee composed of 2 representatives of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and 2 representatives of the National Electrical Contractors Association.

The interview lasts 10-20 minutes.

Applicants will be scored by the committee and placed, according to their score,  on an eligibility list.

The Medallion Foundation is a non-profit aviation safety organization that embraces, mentors and advocates for all aspects of aviation:  Student pilots to airline management.
